Day 29: A Place of Need

The body of Christ

I recently injured my knee in a very- completely torn, no driving – sort of way. For those of you who don’t know me, I like to “get up and go”, (with an occasional nap here and there). But now that my “get up and go”, “got up and went”, I have found myself at home with lots of reflection time.

These past couple of weeks since my injury have been hard as I’ve not been able to care for my family in the the way we’ve all become accustomed to. I have been so blessed by the way my husband and kids, my accountability group and other friends and family have come along side me and picked up the slack (where I’ve been majorly slacking.)

And so, because of my lame limb, I’ve found myself in a place of real need. As difficult as swallowing my pride and asking for help has been, I’ve received and felt the out pouring of love from the Lord through the church body- the body of Christ! It has even resulted in meals and a clean bathroom! I am so undeserving of such kindness! But that’s the point! We are all undeserving but the Creator of the universe wants to be apart of our lives in a nitty gritty sort of way to show us how much He loves us!

1Corinthians 12:27 says “Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it.”

Ephesians 4:16 says “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does it’s own special work, it helps the other parts grow so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”

Well friends, my family and I are full of love from experiencing the gifts of varying members of the Body of Christ! I encourage you brethren, when crisis comes into your life, no matter the size (which could look like the size of a swollen busted up knee), don’t let your pride get in the way of receiving Gods immeasurable love shown through the body of Christ!
