We live in a time when people hear the name of Jesus they generally have one of two responses.  Either they dismiss Him outright or they want to know Jesus…but on their own terms.  Herein lies the irony.  A Jesus that you shape, a Jesus of your own making cannot really help you, challenge you or force you to examine those hard areas in your life…and why?  Because you made him.

In other words, a Jesus you create that doesn’t have his own reality can’t really transform you.  If you want a Jesus that can challenge and change and transform you from the inside-out you have to have the real Jesus.

In some ways, the Gospel of St. Mark is the best place to go to really get the naked / unadulterated / straight up – real Jesus.  In Mark’s Gospel, arguably the least known of the four, we are shown how the story of Jesus is at once cosmic, historical, and personal, calling each of us to look anew at our relationship with God.  This practical study is  for both skeptics and the faithful.  It’s for those struggling to understand who Jesus is and for Christians seeking to know him more intimately.

Beginning September 11th at both our 8:45 and 10:45 services, we invite you to join us as we begin a new series entitled:  Discovering the Real Jesus ~ A Practical Study through the Gospel of St. Mark
