BOOKS WE LIKE:
FAMILY
Habits of the Household by Justin Earley
THE CHRISTIAN FAITH
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
A classically trained scholar describes the Christian faith with clarity, logic, and geniality. The first section describes the choice that Christ presents to us. The second section is about what Christians uniquely believe. The third section is how Christians behave.
Knowing God by J.I. Packer
This book has helped Christians around the world discover the wonder, glory, and joy of knowing God. This warm theologian helps us discover how Christians 'study' God. This is not a 'knowing about God' book, but a great aid in actually 'knowing God' - the way people in the Bible did - relationally, covenantally, with God's gracious help. It is chalk full of Bible passages explained in theologically rich and nuanced ways.
Simply Jesus by N.T. Wright
The Mind of God by Bill Johnson
THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
The Return of the Prodigal by Henri Nouwen
Mother Teresa: In My Own Words
Known more for her humble service to the poor in Calcutta, India, this book brings us the rich things Mother Teresa said. We see in her words an unapologetic love for Jesus and an authority born out of selfless service and surrender to everything Jesus is about. You'll enjoy this little book about one of the 20th century's best-known saints.
Pathway to Freedom: How God's Laws Guide our Lives by Alistair Begg
If the Ten Commandments seem wooden to you and out of date, this book by the popular Scottish preacher will have you thinking and feeling differently about them. Once we have placed our faith in God, it is vital that the laws which Jesus fulfilled begin being fulfilled in our lives as well. By practicing them, we find the peace and grace of Christ entering into everyday life.
Hosting the Presence by Bill Johnson
Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster.
This is another classic. Disciples practice Disciplines. The Bible and the Holy Spirit promote activities designed by God to bless and enhance our relationship with God. Though a Protestant, Foster beautifully describes some sanctifying practices that come from the catholic tradition. He divides them into the Inner Disciplines, Outer Disciplines, and Corporate Disciplines.

In time he oversaw the largest healing service in the Anglican world. This book is sure to increase your faith and health.
